This course explores the science of early literacy development through the lens of AI-powered digital tools and research-backed frameworks, including Scarborough’s Reading Rope and the Simple View of Reading. Educators will engage with interactive technologies to enhance phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and early writing instruction. Emphasizing AI-driven insights, adaptive learning platforms, and multisensory strategies, the course equips participants to support diverse learners, including multilingual students and those with reading challenges. Educators will analyze student data using digital assessment tools, refine instruction through AI-generated recommendations, and develop a personalized literacy action plan to improve K-5 student outcomes.
This course is worth 30 PD clock hours or 2 graduate-level credits.
